This is the magnesium circuit with the S7 micrococal nuclease. An assay was done measure optical density of E. coli with different concentrations of magnesium.

The drop in OD in the mgtAp-mgtArb-S7 circuit compared to the negative control indicates that the S7 is functional. It also demonstrates that 10mM MgCl2 is not enough to shut off the MgtA system.
